The Yale Biotech Club invites you to join us at our annual Life Science Career Fair on Thursday, April 20 and Friday, April 21, 2023.
 
We are delighted to announce that the 2023 YBC Life Science Career Fair will be a 2-day event with an all-day in-person series of events on Thursday, April 20th hosted at Alexion (100 College St) and an industry night networking event at Via Gastropub followed by an all-day virtual series of events on Friday, April 21st.

Want to increase your visibility to companies? You will be able to submit your resume in our registration form for inclusion in the Resume Book that will be made available to the companies in attendance.

The virtual component of our Career Fair is free and open to current Yale students, trainees, affiliates, alumni, and ALL members of the broader biotech community.

 
OCS Workshops​
 
The Office of Career Strategy (OCS) and the Yale Biotech Club (YBC) are co-hosting two workshops for students and postdocs in preparation for the YBC Life Science Career Fair. In these dedicated 1-hour workshops, we will cover essential skills of building and writing strong resumes and help you ease the nerve for networking with employer representatives. Whether you are interested in attending the Life Science Career Fair or not, please join these workshops to gain practical and essential skills universal to job hunting for every career trajectory.
 
Workshop 1
Craft a Resume That Stands Out to Employers
Thursday, April 6, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. ET on Zoom

A professional resume is typically the first impression an employer
gets of you as a potential candidate. Consequently, you want to craft a strong resume that highlights your most relevant skills and experiences and showcases your fit for the job. Join us for this workshop that will explain the differences between resumes and academic CVs and give you tips on producing an effective resume that will market your strengths and stand out to employers. We will also cover another essential part of a successful job search – how to build professional connections to tap into the “hidden” job market and gain valuable information about career paths.

Gold and Sapphire sponsor companies present either a 10 minute showcase or an in-depth 20 minute seminar to students; lunch will be served. 
1:30 - 5:00 p.m.
Company Booths 
Students will have the opportunity to visit and interact with employees from your company at a booth (2 representatives per company can fit at one booth). The venue is the Alexion building at 100 College St., which is a short walk from the medical campus where the majority of graduate students attending the career fair work.
5:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Industry Night
at Via Gastropub
Connect with more Yale graduate students for the evening at Via Gastrobar, a new restaurant in downtown New Haven, which is only a short walk away from Alexion! We have rented out the entire restaurant and will have food and drinks available.
